Jing's Camping Recipes

Oatmeal

For 1 serving, just add directly into a snack-sized Ziploc bag:

  • 1/2 cup Quick oats
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated milk (Bob’s red mill dehydrated milk can be found at whole foods)
  • 1 tbsp seed mix (Trader Joes’s super seed mix or plain chia seeds)
  • Handful of dried or dehydrated fruits:
    • Good combos:
      • dried blueberries + dehydrated bananas
      • Dehydrated strawberries + dehydrated mangos
      • Dried apples with a few pinches of cinnamon
  • Crunchy bits:
    • Slivered almonds
    • Chopped pecans
    • Chopped walnuts
    • Crunchy granola
  • 1 pinch sweetener if you need it (Sometimes I add coconut or cane sugar) Add 1 packet of Justin’s squeeze peanut butter pack Add 1 Starbucks via coffee pack

Risotto

At Home Prep:

For 4 servings Add the following in 1 quart sized zip lock bag:

  • 3 cup of quick cooking rice (Uncle Ben’s super easy if you’re in a pinch)
  • 3 packets of dehydrated mushrooms (available at Whole Foods) - Roughly 1.5 oz mushrooms - 2 crimini and 1 maitake mushroom packets - -
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tbsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tbsp parsley

At Camp

You’ll boil all of this in water until you get a fluffy rice consistency (don’t add too much water)

While this is cooking, chop up 2-3 Field Roast Italian sausage links to small square pieces and then add to the risotto. Then dump 3 to 4oz of shred parmesan to finish off the dish (a standard size
