Check out this peice of gear that some of the Scouts own and use when they go backpacking. Read below to see what they have to say about it!
Bought it for the durability of leather and the ability to be re-soled (you will have to ship it to Seattle to get this done).
For a leather boot, it was surprisingly comfortable out of the box and required no break-in time. It has a pretty thick midsole that provides ample cushioning, Gore-Tex to help your keep your feet dry and very good ankle support. Like all leather boots, they require a little more TLC than a boot with synthetic upper. But as long as you don't let mud cake onto the boot for a long time and apply a little boot-grease/wax regularly, they should last a long time.
