To Fernandez

We left the city on Friday, swung by the Bass Lake Ranger District to pick up our wilderness permit, then drove to Caley and Christian's for the night. They have an amazing place outside of Mariposa which they opened to Stani and I for the night.

The next morning we continued into Sierra National Forest along Beasore Road. The approach is quite long, but it's well worth the drive. It almost feels like you're driving into the middle of nowhere, but then you arrive at Fernandez Trailhead, a well taken-care-of trailhead.

We hiked in the 8ish miles to Chittenden Lake, set up camp, and enjoyed the incredible beauty.
